It’s been a little more than two years since the COVID-19 pandemic first disrupted U.S. businesses. According to a recent survey administered by Laurel Ridge Community College Workforce Solutions, a large majority of employers are fighting against an unprecedented workforce shortage.
The survey reveals that 93% of regional businesses report being impacted by the labor deficit. It was distributed to business leaders in Frederick, Clarke, Fauquier, Warren, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, and Page counties, as well as Winchester City in April 2022, and is the follow-up from an initial survey conducted in August 2020. You may get the 2020 survey results, accompanying report, and webinar replay here.
Top industries that responded include: construction, professional/ technical/ scientific services, manufacturing, education, and healthcare.
Watch the replay as we share the results of this survey and provide further insight on the impact the ongoing workforce shortage is having on businesses in our region, as well as their short-term goals to overcome these challenges.
