What is a Fiber Optic Installer?

Fiber Optic Installers are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables and related equipment. Fiber optic installers typically work in various industries such as telecommunications, internet service providers, cable television companies, and data centers. Fiber optic installers may work both indoors and outdoors, often in extreme temperatures, and use various tools and machinery.

What Experience is Required?

There is no experience required to start training as a fiber optic installer.

What Will Be Covered in a Fiber Optic Installer Training Program?

This 50-hour program will cover basics of fiber and transmission theory, various cables and connectors, splicing, installation, safety practices and more. This course will provide students with hands-on practice to prepare them for day one on the job. All materials and exam will be included.
