Short Description: Love working with children and want to learn techniques for supporting their development? This Child Development Associate course provides practical advice to prepare you for your role as an educator of children ages 0-5. Learn the principles of providing ultimate learning environments, developing engaging curricula for various developmental stages, meeting children’s social-emotional needs and interests, and communicating and interacting with parents and staff professionally. This course covers the basics of early education and positive guidance strategies to enhance physical, cognitive, language, social-emotional, and creativity development.

Instructor Description: Though this program is a self-paced program it is supported by an educational mentor. Educational mentors are subject matter experts who have years of experience in their field as well as the necessary educational training and credentials to work as an expert. The mentor is available to answer any questions a learner may have including questions on course content, course material, certifications, and even industry questions. Mentors also monitor the progress of learners to ensure training retention and program advancement. In eLearning, motivation is a key tool to success. Because of this, mentors provide encouraging comments, feedback, and coaching to motivate learners throughout the duration of the program to support completion and success!

Certification: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to sit for the NCCB’s Certified Child Care Worker (CCCW) exam. The Certified Child Care Worker (CCCW) exam prepares individuals for a career as a Child Care Worker. The certification displays mastery of the latest information and skill practice necessary to be a successful Certified Child Care Worker (CCCW) in a variety of settings. Each state may have additional licensing requirements, be sure to research your states requirements for employment by visiting your states occupation board.

Child Care Workers are responsible to care for children, in various settings when parents or other family members are unavailable. Certified Child Care Workers (CCCW) are responsible for making sure that children’s basic needs are being met, supervise and monitor the safety of children, assist with homework, and even be able to recognize signs of emotional distress or developmental issues. Certified Child Care Workers (CCCW) are employed in childcare centers, preschools, public schools, and private homes.
